3 Kid Friendly Hotel Rooms With a Wow Factor

When you are young and traveling, there is something about the magic of seeing what is behind the door to your hotel room. Sliding that card in, hearing the little click and opening the door to a reveal of two double beds, a tv and desk usually sends shoulders slumping. A nice round of jumping on the beds usually does the trick of a quick cheering up, but there are hotel options that will impress your tots.

Minion Suites Loews Portofino Bay Hotel

Minion Suites: Loews Portofino Bay Hotel

I tend to call my kids my minions as they run around the house creating messes of mass destruction and love to speak in jibberish. The Universal Orlando location doesn’t just have an amazing ‘Despicable Me‘ ride, they have 650 square foot suite that offers a “vault” for your children to sleep in featuring two missile-shaped beds, tv, desk and a balcony. If sneaky kids are a worry, the “vault” door only opens into the parents standard king room so there is no hallway access without going through the parents digs. Prices begin in the $575+/per night range.

The Eloise Suite: The Plaza

For little girls (or boys) who are a fan of Eloise, The Plaza has the icon’s New York City suite for you. Designer Betsey Johnson brought the room to life with “candy striped pink and white wall panels outlined with gold leaf molding, a zebra-print carpet, a King-size bed with custom-designed bedding depicting images of Eloise, a sparkly pink headboard, and Eloise’s name scrawled in neon lights affixed to the wall above.”

There is the option of having parents in an adjoining Edwardian Suite. Look to pay around $1,300 a night.

Barbie Suite: The Palms Casino Resort

It’s Barbie’s Dream House packed into one suite. The 2,300-square-foot accommodation features: Two-Way Fireplace, Steam Shower, Jacuzzi Tub, VIP Nightclub Pass, Seven TVs and Limo Service. The room is vibrantly colored with pinks, blacks, oranges and whites glowing like the Barbie aisle in a toy store. A full bar is also available for older guests who are young at heart.

This suite will set you back $3,000 on a weeknight and $4,000 on a weekend stay.
