Black Friday Travel Deals

Black Friday Travel DealsElectronic gadgets, must have toys and jewelry seem to be the top interest for Black Friday deals. However, don’t forget travel! Several hotel chains and resorts are offering some tempting deals.

Travel Editor for CBS News, Peter Greenberg, shared some deals you can score for select time frames. Most are packages that add on goodies like spa treatments, but others have discounts on nightly room rates. Here are several of the most family friendly offers…

*Black Friday Deals*

Tanque Verde Ranch: The sunny spot will feature half-off all-inclusive rates for new reservations made from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, December 2, 2013. I am a huge fan of inclusive resorts and this place has three daily meals, a supervised children’s program (must be ages 4 to 11) and on-property fun like horseback riding and mountain biking. Fine Print – You must travel between November 29, 2013 and March 10, 2014 and contend your schedule with black out dates.

Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort: Book between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday to save 20 percent on a two-night stay from Nov. 28, 2013, to Feb. 7, 2014. Use promo code CYBER to score the deal online. The resort offers a seasonal “Kids Korral” which is a fun kids-only programming for ages 4-17 during Spring Break, Summer Break and select holidays.

Omni Hotels and Resorts: Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, the Springs Eternal Spa at Omni Bedford Springs Resort in Bedford, Pennsylvania, Virginia’s Omni Homestead Resort or New Orleans’ Omni Royal Orleans will all slash rates by 40 percent off. However, note the limited travel times of November 29 – December 30, 2013.

Cyber Sunday – Monday

Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa: Get 50% off all rooms regardless of the type of room! Good for stays Dec. 2, 2013 to Apr. 30, 2014. Use promo code CYBER when booking online.

AMEX: American Express Travel is making a debut offer. The first-ever Cyber Monday promotion arrives this year. The offer has deals for hotels throughout the U.S. and Canada travel from January 13 through the 31st, 2014. Look for deals on Monday Dec. 2, 2013 that will only last 72 hours.

While there are some great deals out there – make sure you are smart about your purchases. Deal News supplied this excellent tip and prediction on travel sales…

If you have your sights set on a trip to California or Florida, by all means purchase airfare around Black Friday and even closer to Christmas; last year we saw up to 50% off coupons from Frontier, JetBlue, and Virgin America. However, if it’s an international getaway you’re after, we advise you to hold off on booking your flight until the new year. Last year we saw zero Editors’ Choice airfare deals between Thanksgiving and New Year’s.”

I never realized there were travel deals on the big shopping days. I have my eye on a couple of these, especially the Tanque Verde Ranch. Seems like a great place for a family vacation.

I wish we could plan a family trip. I don’t see that happening until my husband is out of the Marine Corps. We can’t ever take advantage of savings like this because we never know when we can take leave.
