Fun Fall Family Activity: Apple Picking At Quinn Farm

DSCN0340

Ava got to spend Thursday and Friday with Grandma (me) and Grandpa and we wanted to do something that was fun, healthy and outdoors. We finally decided that a day apple picking would be just the thing, a traditional Fall activity. Apples are in season now and there are several types to choose from. Since Ava is only 15 months old we had to find somewhere suitable for a young child.

After some research we found just the place, Quinn Farm. Quinn Farm provides a wonderful family day out with a fun packed day of farmyard activities, visiting the animal barn, tractor rides, you get to pick fruit and fresh baked goods. Depending on the season you get to pick strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, apples, pumpkins, squash and Christmas trees.

Not only did we go apple picking but we visited the farm barn which had pigs, sheep, chickens, rabbits, donkey, llamas, goats and horses. When we visited the mommy pig she had a litter of piglets who were still in their incubator. So cute!!!

For the older children they have a play yard with a straw castle, hay slide, tire pyramid, duck races, mini-maze and labyrinthe.

We had a great day and went home with 20 lbs of Spartan, Mackintosh and Courtland apples. We made sure to stop at the bakery which has home-baked goodies made from the fruits on the farm, and we went home with about 20 lbs of those too LOL.
