The Crafthouse Gastropub is infamous for its beer, but they actually offer some amazing food as well. The pub is the perfect place to grab an affordably priced brunch. Their Sunday brunch menu will change your life, they put together a unique and amazing blend of food made from scratch using local and fresh ingredients.

Fun For The Whole Family

6 Reasons Lubbock, Texas Needs To Be On Your Travel Bucket List #LiveLoveLubbockA Tour of West Texas Walk of Fame is an absolute must. Of course, Lubbock is proud of Buddy Holly’s ties to West Texas, but he’s not the only star to hail from there. The historical West Texas Walk of Fame honors big Texas names like Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Dirk West, Ponty Bones, Sonny West, and dozens more! If you are a country music fan, be sure to snap your photos with some of the legends!

When you have completed your Walk of Fame tour, it’s only right to stop by the iconic musician Buddy Holly’s graveside and pay your respects. The Buddy Holly Center is also packed full of history and fun details about Holly himself.

4ORE! Golf is also a must on anyone’s itinerary travelling to Lubbock, especially if you have kids in tow! 4ORE! Golf is the perfect place to let loose with your family after a day of exploring. And, you don’t have to be a professional to have a good time. 4ORE! Golf is packed full of state-of-the-art gold simulators for all ages and skill levels. And, they have various different games available, like Pinball and Knockout.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a true Texas trip without spending a day at a ranch. Luckily, there’s one right in the heart of Lubboch on the Texas Tech Campus. National Ranching Heritage Center is made up of nearly 49 authentic buildings, some dating all the way back to the 18th century. Some of the historical buildings include a homestead, schoolhouse, windmills, and even a railroad depot. Here’s the best part, it’s free for you and your family to take a tour and explore!

Texans take their history and heritage very seriously. And, in order to truly embrace all that Texas is, you have to dive right in to the Lonestar State’s rich history. If you are anything like me, then any time you plan a trip, regardless of where you are going, you find a way to squeeze a winery or two in to your itinerary. I was pleasantly surprised when I learned there were not one, but TWO amazing wineries in Lubbock, Texas.

Llano Estacado Winery boasts the best premium wine in Texas. The beautiful location includes a Tasting Room, Event Center, Conference Room, Banquet Room, Bridal Suite, and Vineyard. Room, Bridal

McPherson Cellars is a family affair, the McPherson’s have been churning out delicious local wine for over 40 years, winning both local and international awards. Tastings and tours are available 6 days a week, you can visit their official website to make arrangements.

Prairie Dog Town

Prairie Dog Town is exactly what it sounds like, an entire town for the prairie dogs! Prairie Dog Town is located inside Mackenzie Park off of 4th Street, and it’s totally free and open to the public. The park features a pavilion and viewing area, interpretive signage, sidewalks, a new parking area with a turnaround and bus parking.

Prairie dogs burrow intricate little underground towns, or colonies, and watching them go about their daily activities is rather intriguing. Visiting the chubby little mammals, which might remind you of a backyard squirrel on steroids, is certainly a must if you are travelling to Lubbock, Texas.

Texas Tech College Football

Football and Texas go hand-in-hand. I promise you, no one takes their football more seriously than those in the Lonestar State. And, seeing as how Texas Tech University is located in Lubbock, Texas is a HUGE part of Lubbock’s day-to-day life. TV shows and movies have romanticized the Texas football lore for decades, but I can tell you first hand that attending a real life Texas Tech college football game is nothing like what you see on the big screens, it’s actually better! The team spirit is contagious, and the music and cheerleaders are more choreographed than some Broadway shows I have seen!

Shopping

During my stay in Lubbock, I did so much shopping I almost had to buy a new suitcase just to get all my goodies back home. The city streets of Lubbock are lined with beautiful boutiques packed full with one-of-a-kind treasures!

Chrome is a fashion icon in Texas. Their shop is packed full of a perfect blend of designer labels and beautiful Bohemian outfits.

If you are looking for gifts to take home to your friends and family, then Hollyhocks is also a must. I went to the store with every intention of buying a few trinkets to take home, and left with enough pillows, throws, and candles to redo my entire livingroom décor.

My absolute favorite shop in Lubbock was Jux-Ta-Posh. The unique boutique was full of beautiful antique and reimagined furniture, dating back to the Victorian age. If I could have fit two beds and a dresser in to the cargo of our plane then I would have!
