Avianca Adds 3 Nonstop Flights To Lesser-Known Latin America Locations

In recent years, Latin American vacations have become more popular with new flight routes being added. In fact, several new non-stop routes have been added between the US and countries like Brazil and Colombia. However, now, Avianca, a Colombian airline, has added three new routes to lesser-known, but beautiful Central American locations.

Avianca adds three new nonstop routes to Central America

Budget Colombian airline Aviance has recently announced that it is opening three seasonal routes between the US and Central America. What makes these new flights exciting is that they travel to lesser-known locations, offering American travelers a new experience.

Starting from early to mid-December, travelers will be able to book affordable flights to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. Meanwhile, these are three up-and-coming tropical locations with plenty to offer in terms of beaches, nature and culture.

While there are already flights to these countries from North America, the Colombian airline aims to make them cheaper and more accessible. Meanwhile, the leading budget airline is choosing other US locations besides those in Florida. Read on to find out more about the flights.

Avianca flights from Oakland To El Salvador

From December 13, Avianca will launch a four-time-weekly service under the code AV 557. The flight will run between Oakland (OAK) and San Salvador (SAL), El Salvador’s capital on an Airbus A320neo.

The city features many Spanish colonial-era landmarks as well as older, pre-Columbian ruins that include Joya de Cerén, a Mayan city wiped out by a volcano and considered the Latin American Pompeii.

Flight timetable:

  • Departs OAK at 11:00 PM – Arrives at SAL 6:30 AM (Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday)
  • Departs SAL at 5:45 PM – Arrives at 9:50 PM (Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday)

Moreover, the flights will be available from December 11, 2023, through January 29, 2024, and tickets are available for booking on the airline’s website.

New nonstop flights from Chicago To Guatemala

A second new nonstop flight will travel between Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Guatemala City (GUA), the capital of Guatemala. Passengers will fly on an Airbus A320.

Guatemala is second only to Costa Rica for its vibrant nature and quieter Pacific beaches. Meanwhile, it is much more affordable for travelers.

Avianca flights from Chicago to Guatemala City

  • Departs ORD at 2:35 PM – Arrives at GUA at 7:05 PM (Every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday)
  • Departs GUA at 08:45 AM – Arrives at ORD at 1:15 PM (Every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday)

New York To San Pedro Sula in Honduras with Avianca

The third affordable flight is from New York (JFK) to San Pedro Sula, the cultural heart of Honduras. Again, flights will be on an Airbus A320, but three times a week. The city has a rich Spanish colonial heritage with beautiful architecture including the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Museum of Anthropology and History. Meanwhile, the city is surrounded by the Cusuco National Park. Flights start operating on December 11 with the following schedule:

Flights between New York (JFK) and San Pedro Sula (SAP)

  • Departs JFK at 10:00 AM – Arrives at SAP at 1:40 PM (Every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday)
  • Departs SAP at 1:05 AM – Arrives at JFK at 6:30 PM (Every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday)
