Royal Caribbean cruise company representatives recently announced more about their new vessel, Legend of the Seas. It shouldn’t be confused with the old ship of that name which was sold in 2016. According to the company, the new ship is part of “an incredible moment in our Royal Caribbean history.”
Exciting New Features
According to PR Wire this week, Michael Bayley, president and CEO, said:
With Legend of the Seas, we are bringing to life our most legendary vacation yet as we continue to push the boundaries with more of what guests know and love. Those looking to get the most out of their vacation can have it all with Legend’s combination of adventure-packed experiences and incredible destinations in Europe and the Caribbean.
The company already has the Icon of the Seas, which brought amazing entertainment like rock climbing walls and the Surfside neighborhood to keep kids of all ages occupied. But Legend of the Seas seems likely to top all of that with its “gamechanging” vacation experiences for guests. In a promotional video on Monday, fans of cruise ships heard that the new ship debuts next year. It promises to bring an array of fresh concepts and classics from the Icon Class to life.
Dining and Entertainment
First, the company introduced amazing new levels of dining and entertainment. Representatives confirmed that Legend of the Seas incorporates the Royal Railway concept first seen on Utopia of the Seas, evolving it into “Legend Station.” From that point, the immersive experience takes guests on a journey across the ancient Silk Road.
Furthermore, the dining adventure blends virtual reality, actors, and food and beverages to fully transport guests. Diners not only enjoy the “beautiful sights and sounds of the continents” but also taste the “flavors on plate and amazing cocktails with the ingredients from this cornucopia of spices and flavors.” 28 different dining options give guests a lot of choices.
The Golden Age Of Hollywood
Next, the ship brings the golden age of cinema. The company brings a new Hollywood-themed venue. The idea is to honor the movie industry and Hollywood’s dining traditions. Apparently, they are bringing it to life in a “really unique and special way.”
Furthermore, the popular AquaDome Market expands, with more dining delights. The company promises that guests will find “a little bit of something for everybody,” with traditional and realistic food choices.
Memorable Family Moments
The cruise line’s long-term strategy still focuses on “memorable experiences for families.” That focus covers “tradition, evolution, and revolution,” a continuous development guests look forward to.
For families, expect plenty of entertainment for the children and the young at heart. The Royal Caribbean cruise line sticks with the “adrenaline pumping thrill…revolutionized into the icon class.” Certainly, the effort seems likely to ensure that guests are “super happy and having an amazing time.”
More Fun On Hand
Get ready for some incredible new entertainment on board. The Broadway musical, Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” makes its “golden ticket debut at sea” in the Royal Theater.
Plenty of fun comes on Legend of the Seas. Notably, they mentioned the “Deck-defying entertainment.” Over at the AquaDome, the AquaTheater features high divers, aerialists, and even robots. For something completely different, you can check out Absolute Zero, which is the “largest ice arena at sea.”
Travel Fans React
On YouTube, people seemed very excited about the vessel. And, some of them already booked. One of them wrote, “We sail on this in Europe in August. We are so excited.”
Here are a few more reactions:
- Super excited for Charlie and the chocolate factory! That seems like such a perfect show for a cruise ship!
- Booked for October 2026!
- I wanna go on the new royal Caribbean ships only lol.
- Set sail on the ship end of July 2026 can’t wait looks amazing.
However, not everyone cheered. Some folks felt that as it’s Icon Class, not much that is different could be expected. And others complained about the price.
A critic opined, “Royal Caribbean…over-priced and underwhelming. This company will use every hour of your vacation to sell you some stuff that used to be included in the price of the cruise. Its literally a shopping mall at sea experience.”
