Game On with @Ford : New GT Stuns at 2015 International Car Show #FordNAIAS

Tourist Meets Traveler had the pleasure of attending the International Car Show and the 2015 Ford NAIAS Digital Summit. The event spanned several days and was packed with fresh concepts, new advancements, and a few unveilings that took my breath away.

The all-new Ford GT supercar was a showstopping piece of machinery that has more curves, gadgets, and horsepower packed into the aerodynamic coupe body than ever before. To be exact – the new EcoBoost V-6 engine boasts twin-turbochargers that will unleash more than 600 horsepower on your command. Yes, the 3.5-liter mill is built with the automaker’s Daytona Prototype fittings.

The body is equivalent to an impeccable pair of skinny jean. Leave it to me to work in a relation to fashion, but this car is like the ultimate accessory. Made of carbon fiber and aluminum, the materials used to create the body compliment the power this beauty packs. Every structured design in the car is a hint to what’s under the hood…

* Wide powerband with time-to-torque characteristics
* Seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle
* Updated direct-injection and valvetrain features

The doors swing upward to reveal the interior. A narrow design keeps the outer-shell honest. The seating is fixed and the adjustable pedals let the car conform to you while maintaining the vehicle’s stunning visual. All the gadgets and gizmos are digital and configurable, allowing multiple driving environments and modes. The heart of this technology command center is the steering wheel. You’ll run your fingertips across an F1-style wheel that houses driver controls, creating a look of simplicity.

It’s stunning from every angle. The look was even used for Microsoft’s gaming system racing experience. The new GT is the cover star for Xbox Froza Motorpsort 6.

The big question is its performance numbers. It’s still being developed, but the car will be partnering with Chip Ganassi Racing at the United SportsCar Championship. There, it will rival Aston Martin, Porsche, and even speed-demon Ferrari.
