The Orlando shooting has become the center of a fresh tragedy attempting to shake the resolve of good people. However, like many other great countries, America is standing tall and refusing to let fear and evil overrule the good in the world. President Barack Obama is due in Florida to pay his respects to the victims and their loved ones on Thursday, as healing comes from various sources. Comfort dogs have brought some relief and even airline JetBlue has extended a free flight offer to the families of those who died in the Orlando shooting.
President Barack Obama will arrive in Orlando on Thursday after addressing the worst shooting massacre in United States history. On Monday, the President stated, “It is one that is particularly painful for the people of Orlando, but I think we all recognize that this could have happened anywhere in this country. And we feel enormous solidarity and grief on behalf of the families that have been affected.”
Currently, Obama will make a third statement following a meeting of his National Security Council at the Treasury Department in Washington which is focusing on cutting off ISIS with a financial focus. In addition to the President’s arrival in Orlando, Lutheran Church Charities’ K-9 Comfort Dogs has sent a fleet of help. Eleven golden retrievers trained to bring relief, peace, and, of course, comfort, have been sent to Florida to help ease the pain of all those suffering from the loss of the 49 people killed and 53 injured at Pulse nightclub. The LCC’s website states, “We will be working in the hospitals with those who were injured and will also be working with all the First Responders.”
JetBlue has also stepped up to help the families of the victims of the Orlando shooting. An airline spokesman confirmed the offer stating, “JetBlue is providing free seats on its available flights to/from Orlando for immediate family and domestic partners of victims who were killed or injured. Those family members and domestic partners requiring travel assistance can contact 1-800-JETBLUE for details.“
Our hearts, positive thoughts, and unending support goes out to all those affected by this cowardly and senseless tragedy.
