Croatia welcomes vaccinated international travelers
Croatia’s government has recently announced that international visitors can now bypass the COVID-19 testing and quarantine requirements, as long as they have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival.
They do stress that even if visitors have not yet received the vaccine, they will still be welcome under certain conditions. For instance, if they can provide proof of a negative PCR or antigen results from a COVID-19 test taken no more than 48 hours prior to arrival in the country. If providing proof of an antigen test, this must be repeated within 10 days, if they are staying in Croatia that long.
However, visitors who tested positive for the coronavirus within the previous 180 days will be exempt from the mandatory testing and self-quarantine. To do so, they will be required to present a certificate of recovery issued by a physician.
Options for travelers without test results
There is even a plan in place for travelers who arrive in the country without any of these options. They would be required to undergo PCR testing or rapid antigen testing immediately on arrival in Croatia, at their own expense. However, they would also be required to self-isolate until a negative test result comes through. If testing cannot be performed on arrival, visitors must stay in self-quarantine for at least 10 days. Families should note that children under the age of seven, who are accompanied by a parent or guardian, will not be subjected to testing requirements.
On top of the various options outlined above, any international travelers visiting Croatia for vacation purposes are required to show confirmation of booked accommodation. They will also be required to complete an online form before traveling.
What does Croatia offer visitors?
