Sky Lagoon in Iceland
Sky Lagoon is located on the oceanfront in Kársnes Harbour, Kópavogur. The geothermal lagoon aims to offer a restorative, spa-like ritual, as rooted in Icelandic tradition. The manmade lagoon features an unobstructed 70 m (230 ft) infinity edge, which offers a spectacular visual effect as the warm waters blend with the ocean landscape. Here, guests can enjoy a seven-step spa experience known as “The Ritual,” combining warm and cold water, dry heat, warm steam and fresh air.
The elements of the Sky Lagoon have been influenced by Icelandic culture. The site has also been modeled after the country’s turf houses and moss roofs, which feature deep insulation for the winter season. Sky Lagoon allows visitors to connect with Icelandic traditions and to relax their mind, body and soul. The experience will leave them rejuvenated, transformed and connected to the elements with a remarkable hot and cold experience.
Sky Lagoon also features the Lagoon Bar, which is set in the side of a cave on the far edge of the lagoon. Guests can also enjoy the Sky Café and the Smakk Bar, which offer delicious food, inspired by the traditional dishes of Iceland.
The Sky Café offers fresh and light meals, served café-style, including soups, sandwiches and local specialties. Meanwhile, the Smakk Bar offers unique food and drink, characteristic of Iceland and allows guests to connect with the seasonal tastes of Reykjavík.
On top of all this, the Sky Lagoon also gives guests a chance to take in unobstructed views of the Atlantic Sea, where they can relax and enjoy colorful sunsets, dark sky views and the iconic Northern Lights.

Who can visit Iceland?
In March this year, Iceland became the first country in the EU/Schengen area to allow entry to vaccinated passengers from anywhere in the world. It is also one of the few countries that has been placed on the green list for English travelers.
This means international travelers, including those from the US, can now visit Iceland. All they need to do is provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. Readers can find more information about vaccinations and Iceland’s entry regulations on the official website for the Government of Iceland. They can also learn more about Sky Lagoon and all it has to offer on its official website.
