Whether it’s firework displays, family-friendly entertainment, or backyard barbecues, the Fourth of July is one of America’s most festive holidays. If you wish, you can enjoy the celebrations in your home town. However, if you are feeling adventurous, explore some of the best Fourth of July celebrations in the USA. Here are three places to salute the red, white and blue on the Fourth of July in 2022.

1. Fourth of July in New York City

The Big Apple is a major location for any popular holiday and this, naturally, includes the Fourth of July celebrations. Meanwhile, the city has events across New York City’s five boroughs to choose from. Brooklyn sees big eaters gathering at Coney Island for Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog-eating Contest. An exciting Cyclones baseball game follows this, ending the celebrations with a spectacular firework display.

Heading to Staten Island, the small town of Travis fully features the stars and stripes in its historic Fourth of July parade as it has done since 1911. Meanwhile, the best is Macy’s Fourth of July Spectacular. This features America’s largest pyrotechnic performances, starting at around 9:30 pm. The event sees more than 65,000 shells launched from five barges on the East River, close to Brooklyn Bridge.

2. Huntington Beach, California

Huntingdon Beach is the surf capital of SoCal and has been celebrating the Fourth of July since 1904. Around 500,000 people head to this Los Angeles suburb to be part of one of the largest Independence Day celebrations west of the Mississippi.

Meanwhile, the town hosts four days of events, including a float parade along historic Main Street, an All-American 5K and the popular Pier Plaza Festival. Meanwhile, the festival features live entertainment, plenty of food and amusement rides for all. However, the climax of the celebration on July 4th sees fireworks lighting up the sky over Huntington Beach Pier at 9 pm.

3. Nashville, Tennessee

Head to Music City, USA to enjoy an action-packed Fourth of July celebration with performances by world-class musicians. The weekend starts on July 1 with singer-songwriter Ben Folds and the Nashville Symphony. Meanwhile, July 2 sees Chagall Guevera perform at the Ryman Auditorium. However, for those with country roots, Riley Green performs on July 3 at Ascend Amphitheater.

Meanwhile, for family fun on July 3 and 4, the kids can experience the free Family Fun Zone at Music City Walk of Fame Park. Here, they can play games, and have fun bouncing on inflatables, all naturally backed with live music.

However, the free Fourth of July grand finale in Downtown Nashville is set to feature reggae star Gramps Morgan, country singer Levi Hummon and pop-punk princess Cassadee Pope. Following the concert, the whole family can head to Ascend Amphitheater for a spectacular firework display. Meanwhile, the fireworks are synchronized to the sounds of the Nashville Symphony orchestra.
