Train travel in Europe

Once in Europe, travelers find that trains are among the easiest ways to explore the continent, with a huge variety of journeys to choose from. Besides the normal inter-city trains, countries like Spain are introducing more and more high-speed rail options. On the slower side of rail travel, sleeper trains are also becoming popular again. Each train journey makes a difference to a traveler’s carbon footprint when compared to flying.

When it comes to Deutsche Bahn, the company operates more than an amazing 40,000 trains each day. These trains run across 5,700 train stations in the country. However, in its partnership with its French counterpart, the company is also developing a high-speed train connection between Paris and Berlin that will directly link the cities in just seven hours.

With Europe’s beautiful Christmas markets opening soon, this is the ideal way to travel from the US and to each city for the holidays
