Adding its extended season with 10 roundtrip sailings, Royal Caribbean plans to add 10 roundtrip voyages from Hong Kong in 2025. This gives sailors more opportunities to enjoy the shopping capital next year with diverse itineraries, offering five departures in December 2024, and 10 homeport sailings in 2025.

Royal Caribbean doubles its sailings from Hong Kong

Over December 2024 and January 2025, the popular cruise line Royal Caribbean is planning to double its sailings with 10 roundtrip voyages. Meanwhile, the Spectrum of the Seas and its sister ship, Ovation of the Seas will offer diverse itineraries with five Hong Kong departures in December this year and 10 homeport sailings in 2025.

Among the additional voyages, the cruise line will offer sailings of 4, 5, 9, and 11 nights, heading to scenic areas of Japan, Taiwan and Vietnam. Moreover, Ovation of the Seas will host an Easter Monday cruise, expected to be the most popular voyage, suitable for family reunions, memorable celebrations and gatherings.

More international visitors to Hong Kong

The launching of Spectrum of the Seas on December 6 brought over 4,800 international visitors to Hong Kong. Meanwhile, strong early reservations for 2025 sailings are proof of Royal Caribbean’s vision to expand its homeport sailings in the coming years.

Michael Wong, GBS, JP, Deputy Financial Secretary of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region spoke of Royal Caribbean’s plans, saying that it had welcomed 34 million visitors last year. Moreover, the first 10 months of 2024 saw figures close to 37 million. Meanwhile, the number of visitors to Hong Kong will continue to increase, while year-on-year tourist growth is expected to increase by over 30 percent

Benjamin Bouldin, President of Royal Caribbean International, China, spoke of the home port, saying:

Hong Kong stands as a captivating destination in its own right, attracting global visitors with its unique East meets West culture. The city offers a myriad of experiences, from being a renowned shopping and culinary paradise, to being home to world-class cultural heritage conservations and international mega events throughout the year.

Moreover, Hong Kong’s advantageous geographical location, coupled with its visa-free access to citizens of some 170 countries and regions, positions the city as the prospective Asian cruise hub. We are committed to Hong Kong, and we look forward to bringing in our newest and best ships to this market in the years to come.

Royal Caribbean’s website describes Hong Kong as a vibrant, buzzing metropolis, filled with history, culture and futuristic feats.” The city boasts a dazzling skyline, while in the port, stately dragon boats add to the mood. Meanwhile, the many museums and historic sites are worthwhile exploring. Moreover, the food scene offers diverse offerings, making it difficult to just have a few days to visit.
