Royal Caribbean’s 274-night Ultimate World Cruise set sail in December causing quite a stir. What made it surprising was that the cruise line is best known for its seven-day cruises. Meanwhile, the cruise line is not alone in the world cruise market, as others offer similar options. While previously, world cruises were limited to luxury cruise ships, things have changed, giving travelers an option at a more affordable price.

The average world cruise takes more than 100 days, but not everyone has the time or money for the full itinerary. For this reason, shorter segments are available, heading to the guest’s preferred locations. Meanwhile, pricing varies depending on the cruise line at anything from $15,000 per person, up to $100,000.

– MSC Cruises on the MSC Magnifica

Sailing on the 2,558-passenger MSC Magnifica, MSC Cruises offers a 116-night cruise, departing from four different ports. These are Civitavecchia and Genoa in Italy, Marseille in France or Barcelona in Spain. The ship sails on January 4, calling at 50 ports in 21 countries and seven overnights. Meanwhile, the cruise ends on May 1. Fares for this option start at $15,079 per person.

– Cunard on the Queen Anne

Cunard offers 111-night world cruise, sailing roundtrip from Hamburg on the Queen Anne. The cruise starts on January 7 and runs through April 29, stopping at more than 30 ports with nine overnights along the way. Meanwhile, this will be the first world cruise on the Queen Anne, Cunard’s first new ship in more than 13 years. Fares on this new cruise ship start at $17,869 per person.

– Princess Cruises on the Island Princess and Crown Princess

It turns out Princess Cruises offers two world cruises in 2025, including their “longest voyage ever.” One is on the Island Princess, embarking on January 5 on 116-day roundtrip voyage. Guests can board in either Fort Lauderdale or Los Angeles. That world cruise takes in 51 destinations in 26 countries.

Meanwhile, the Crown Princess departs on June 4 from three Australian ports – Auckland, Brisbane or Sydney. The 113-day cruise takes guests to 49 destinations in 28 countries, with fares starting at $19,998 or $15,248, respectively.

– Holland America Line – Zuiderdam and Volendam

Holland America Line also offers two world cruises next year. One is on the 1,964-passenger Zuiderdam, embarking on a 124-day cruise on January 4 on a roundtrip cruise from Fort Lauderdale. The Zuiderdam visits 46 ports in 32 countries and offers nine overnights.

Meanwhile, the cruise line’s 1,432-passenger Volendam sets sail on a roundtrip cruise on January 25 from Fort Lauderdale. This world cruise visits 68 ports in 28 countries and offers eight overnights. Fares for these cruises start at $24,999 and $26, 399 respectively.

– Azamara on the Azamara Onward

Next in line is the 155-night world cruise from Azamara, departing from San Diego on January 6. After calling at 37 countries with 46 late-night port stays or overnights, ending in Southhampton on June 11. For this option, fares start at $39,999 per person.

Oceania Cruises on the Insignia

Oceania Cruises offers its “Around the World Cruise” on the 670-passenger cruise ship, Insignia. This 180-day cruise leaves from Miami on January 5, visiting 89 ports in 32 countries with 21 overnight stays. The cruise ends in San Diego on July 3. Fares for this option start at $48,399 per person.

– Viking Expedition Cruises on the Viking Octantis

Viking Expedition Cruises sets sail from Nuuk in Greenland on September 3, calling at 12 countries along the way on its “From the Arctic to Antarctica” cruise. Passengers on the 87-day longitudinal world cruise disembark in Ushuaia, Argentina on November 28. This cruise starts at $74,995 per person.

– Silversea Cruises on Silver Dawn

This next, “Controtempo” 136-day world cruise sets sail on the 596-passenger Silver Dawn. The cruise leaves from Tokyo on January 13 and vists 59 ports in 30 countries along the way, with 33 overnights and 23 world cruise maiden calls. Sailing on the Silver Dawn, fares for this option start at $81,900 per person.

– Regent Seven Seas on the Seven Seas Mariner

According to Travel Pulse, the 150-night world cruise from Regent Seven Seas Cruises departs from Miami on January 7. Sailing on the 696-passenger Seven Seas Mariner, the ship calls at 97 ports in 25 countries. Moreover, it ends in San Francisco. Currently, this cruise is sold out and wait-listed, but two-for-one fares start at $90,699.
