Upgraded Points has run a study to reveal which airlines let travelers stretch out more on the flight from A to B.

Which US airlines offer the most legroom?

When travelers can’t afford business or first-class seating on a flight, they tend to accept being crammed into the plane like so many sardines. While we accept that, if we are honest, it would be nice to have a bit more room to stretch out on our way to our vacation.

Upgraded Points has run a new study to reveal to travelers which US airlines have the most legroom for a more comfortable journey. Read on to find out which you should travel with, especially if you have long legs.

1. JetBlue Airways

Standing at No. 1 is JetBlue Airways, one of the country’s hippest airlines. As it grows in popularity to become favorite for American travelers there are many reasons to fly with JetBlue. Meanwhile, the study points to the airline’s modern fleet of A320 and A321 planes as being a major part of its success. Moreover, with the availability of flights across the USA and new routes launching to Tulum and Europe, it’s not surprising the airline comes high on the list. However, JetBlue comes out tops due to the 32.8 inches of space it offers its passengers, better than any other US airline.

2. Southwest Airlines

While Southwest has had its problems in recent years, many travelers are still loyal to the airline. Despite any problems, it is clear the airline puts its passengers first. While Southwest doesn’t fly around the world, passengers can travel to the Caribbean and Latin America.

Meanwhile, the airline comes a close second to JetBlue with 31.8 inches of legroom for passengers to enjoy.

3. Delta Air Lines and Alaska Air

Delta Air Lines and Alaska Air hold a dead tie in the legroom competition at exactly 31 inches of space for their passengers. However, their popularity is also measured in other aspects. When it comes to Delta Air Lines, they offer the best amenities. However, Alaska Air is the most popular for its West Coast routes.

Passengers on both airlines surely do appreciate the extra wiggle room during their flight from A to B.

4. American Airlines

Only a fraction behind in the legroom stakes, American Airlines boats 30.2 inches, comparing Alaska Air and Delta. That tiny bit of extra space just adds to the airline’s popularity among American travelers.

Meanwhile, the airline offers an impressive worldwide network of flights and even though legroom is fractionally less, the airline’s ratings keep on growing.

5. United Airlines

United comes in with 30.1 inches of wiggle room for those long-legged and other folks, making it more comfortable for its extensive network.

6. Hawaiian Airlines

While not coming tops in the legroom stakes, Hawaiian Airlines does offer 29 inches, which is comfortably close to its competitors. Upgraded Points analyzed the Aloha airline’s 10 busiest domestic routes to come up with the seat pitch of the back-to-back economy seats.

Meanwhile, Hawaiian takes its passengers to one of the most beautiful and tropical US states, offering the best comfort for passengers. This is true whether flying to mainland America or island hopping in Hawaii.
