If you travel frequently like I do you’re always cautious about drinking tap water in different countries.  If you’re not careful the bacteria and parasites in some countries drinking tap water can easily ruin your vacation.

Because I spend a great deal of time in Rome, Italy many people ask me if it is safe to drink the tap water. Well, I have good news  the water in Rome it is perfectly safe to drink and it tastes good too!

The city boasts more than 2,500 fountains and most don’t realize the water coming from the fountains is clean, cold & drinkable.  They are both beautiful and practical.

Not only are there 2,500 fountains there are more than 200 “nasoni” (drinking fountains or long noses as Romans call them) The first one popped up in 1874, so they have been around for a while. They are all over the city but if you’re new to Rome and cannot find one check out this handy map that will easily lead you to a “nasoni.”
