Donald Trump’s travel ban will now take effect thanks to the US Supreme Court. The ban will encounter appeals, but with tougher security and its impact on flying, here’s what you need to know for international travel.

Travel Ban
After 3 attempts, the Trump administration’s travel ban will impact varying levels of restrictions on foreign nationals from Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, Somalia, and Yemen. The restrictions had been blocked thanks to two separate challenges. This third version allows President Trump’s to impede citizens of several Muslim-majority countries from entering America. On Monday, it was announced that Trump’s travel ban will be enforced as challenges go through the legal system.
So what does this mean? The ban will largely affect Muslim travelers. Americans with valid passports won’t need to worry per se, but there are many arguments on both sides of this issue.
Transportation Security Administration New Security Measures
In the next few weeks preparing to put all electronic devices larger than a cell phone into a separate bin during screening. Just like putting the laptop into its own bin, cell phone, tablets, and other gadgets will be inspected more closely. That could mean longer lines and additional delays.
The statement explains:
“To ensure the security of airline passengers and the nation’s airports, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is implementing new, stronger screening procedures for carry-on items that require travelers to place all electronics larger than a cell phone in bins for X-ray screening in standard lanes. Following extensive testing and successful pilots at 10 airports, TSA plans to expand these measures to all U.S. airports during the weeks and months ahead.”

- Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport (LBB)
- Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU)
- McCarran International Airport (LAS)
- Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
