Airbnb Reveals Top Solo Travel Destinations For Women

What with digital nomads and all, travel has changed lot since the pandemic, with solo travel becoming a big thing. According to Airbnb, 2022 saw the number of women traveling alone increase by 55 percent. Obviously, some places are not suitable for a woman alone, so Airbnb partnered with the personal safety app WalkSafe. They did research to determine the best places for female solo travel by looking at the highest percentage of self-proclaimed women travelers. The following are the top three locations for females traveling alone.

Paris comes out tops for female solo travel

While most people think of Paris as one of the most romantic places to visit, the City of Light also has plenty of options for solo travelers. With all the art galleries and cute neighborhoods, it is truly a great place for people to explore on their own.

Besides the obvious attractions like the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and more, ladies visiting solo can explore some wonderful locations.

These include the iconic Louvre Museum, the Palace of Versailles and the Musée d’Orsay. Meanwhile, travelers can also enjoy an evening of culture in the Palais Garnier Opera House. For those who like simple pleasures, sitting on a café terrace in Paris, watching the world go by is a beautiful thing.

Airbnb lists Dubai in second place

While Dubai might be expensive, the city is known for its incredible skyscrapers, mega shopping malls and year-round warm weather. Meanwhile, it is known for a low crime rate, and offers an excellent transport infrastructure making it easy to explore alone.

Among the main attractions in Dubai, new addition is the fascinating Museum of the Future, an interactive museum. The venue welcomes people of all ages to “see, touch, and shape our shared future.” It is recommended that you book your visit to the museum ahead of time, as only limited numbers can visit at any one time.

Meanwhile, a ride on the Ain Dubai Ferris Wheel offers panoramic views of the surrounding city. For even more views, the observation deck at the Palm Tower is a definite must. Moreover, for culture and entertainment, La Perle Performing Arts Theater is perfect for an evening out alone.

Barcelona – a top city for feminine solo travel

Located in Spain, it takes multiple visits to see all the fascinating attractions that Barcelona has to offer. Exploring the wonders of architect and artist Antoni Gaudi takes up a lot of truly wonderful time. Among the best are the Sagrada Familia, Parque Güell, Casa Mila and Casa Battlo, with their often fairy tale touches. Visiting alone gives us women travelers the opportunity to truly appreciate these venues, capturing them in images for posterity.
