The ship first heads down south to Central America, then heads through the Panama Canal. From there, the Viking Sky sails up the West Coast, then across the Pacific via Hawaii, heading across to Australia and New Zealand.

Following this, the cruise ship heads to destinations in Asia and the Middle East, then heads through the Mediterranean and on to England. While that might sound like a short cruise, it takes more than four months, stopping at ports of call along the way. Meanwhile, the world cruise will end by docking in Greenwich on May 4, 2024.

What other destinations are on the itinerary?

Some of the most popular locations around the world include Cozumel in Mexico, Los Angeles in California and Monte Carlo in Monaco. However, it also features stopovers in lesser-known locations like Thursday Island in Australia, Semarang in Indonesia and Corinto in Nicaragua.

Meanwhile, guests will not always be out at sea as the world cruise offers overnight stays in 11 ports around the world. The ports include Sydney in Australia, Auckland in New Zealand, Istanbul in Turkey, Bali in Indonesia, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Yangon in Myanmar, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Mumbai in India and Singapore. Moreover, along the way, guests will get to enjoy 57 guided tours in some of the locations.

Clearly, this cruise takes its guests in comfort to some of the most iconic destinations in the world, with diverse cuisines, landscapes and cultures. It’s like a dream come true for many and an experience for a lifetime.

Other Viking world cruises

Viking Sky is not alone in the world cruise business, as it is only one of two of the cruise line’s ships offering trips around the world this winter. As noted by Cruise Industry News, the Viking Neptune is also ready to set sail from Port Everglades on December 23, offering the same global voyage, with both ships scheduled to offer the same itinerary.
