American Cruise Lines is about to launch a new ship, American Serenade, set to sail on some of the most beautiful rivers in the USA. Among the brand-new ship’s itineraries is a 22-day Mississippi Cruise. Read on to find out more about the latest ship in the cruise line’s fleet and its upcoming itineraries.
American Cruise Lines to Launch American Serenade
American Cruise Lines is getting ready to launch its new ship, American Serenade in April with Mississippi River cruises on the itinerary. Like the American Symphony pictured top, the new cruise ship will feature exciting itineraries. In fact, the sixth ship in the American Riverboat series will first set sail on April 20, 2023, on its inaugural journey down the Mississippi River.
Meanwhile, on the eight-day sail, American Serenade will team up with its sibling ships, American Melody and American Symphony. Meanwhile, two of the cruise line’s classic paddle wheelers, American Heritage and American Splendor will join in the fun.
The cruise line released a statement about the new cruise ship on its website as follows:
Like American Symphony, the 180-passenger American Serenade introduces an updated modern interior design, integrating an elegant and refined aesthetic with our tradition for the spacious comfort found aboard all of our ships.
Drawing inspiration from the geography across America, the new interior design highlights natural textural elements and serene color palettes.
Rooms on American Serenade vary in size from 250 sq ft to 650 sq ft. All include private balconies, full-size baths and closets. Meanwhile, the new cruise ship offers guests the chance of enjoying the views from its four-story glass atrium, located in the heart of the ship.
Itineraries on the new river ship
Following the christening cruise launching on April 20, American Serenade will continue with the cruise line’s eight-day Tennessee rivers itinerary. Meanwhile, this takes passengers between Nashville and Chattanooga, Tennessee, with stops in Decatur, Alabama, Florence, Alabama, Savannah, Tennessee, and Paducah, Tennessee.
Meanwhile, the company is adding more new shore excursions to the Tennessee River and Mississippi River sailings. These will include the Mark Twain Cave Exploration & Wine Tasting and Natchez Trails to Tamales Experience. Moreover, American Cruise Lines will offer unique VIP access to the filming of Antiques Roadshow for those who time their cruise right.
Longer cruises on the Mississippi river
For anyone looking for a longer cruise, the cruise line still offers the longest river cruise itinerary in the U.S.A. In fact, the 22-day Complete Mississippi river trip covers 10 states while sailing almost the entire length of the river. That particular itinerary kicks off in June and August 2023, on board the new cruise ship, American Serenade.
