About the epic New Year winter train journey

The new seven-day train journey includes accommodations in four-star hotels and most meals during the rail vacation.

Meanwhile, the journey sets off from London, where guests will board the Eurostar to Brussels. Once there, a change of trains takes guests on to Cologne, Germany, with an overnight stop for dinner.

The next morning, guests catch a train from Germany into Switzerland. The train heads along the dramatic Rhine Gorge, where steep rock faces are often crowned with fairytale castles.

The final stop is Interlaken, a resort in the Bernese Oberland of the Swiss Alps, beneath the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. Here, guests spend five nights while exploring the settlement that lines a valley between the beautiful lakes of Thun and Brienz.

Among the attractions is a meal in a rotating restaurant, taking day trips in the surrounding areas, exploring the countryside and quaint villages. Moreover, guests can take a train ride to the Alpine village of Mürren, where a cable car whisks them up to the summit of Schilthorn Mountain.

Once at the mountain’s peak, guests will enjoy a meal at the 360-degree rotating restaurant Piz Gloria. This restaurant was used as a film location in the James Bond movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

From these dizzying heights, guests continue to Basel and then Paris, where they will conclude their train journey on the Eurostar back to London.

This amazing journey kicks off on December 27 or 28 and concludes on January 2 or 3. The price of tickets is €2,400 ($2,592), which includes all rail journeys, six nights in hotel accommodation, local guides, a tour escort and many meals.
