Miami Beach, Florida Snags Two Wins At World Travel Awards 2023

Miami Beach is an island city in southern Florida, connected by bridges to mainland Miami. The city’s beaches run from North Shore Open Space Park all the way to South Pointe Park. All of this and more was taken into account at the World Travel Awards 2023 where the Florida city had a double win. The efforts of the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority to enhance the destination and tourism experience have definitely paid off. In this year’s World Travel Awards, the city was officially named North America’s Leading Beach Destination. However, it was also deemed to be North America’s Leading City Destination in 2023.

Meanwhile, both awards reveal that city’s winning reputation continues as it is hailed by one of the travel industry’s most respected organizations, the World Travel Awards. On the one hand, the city is officially named North America’s Leading Beach Destination. Meanwhile, on the other, it is hailed as North America’s Leading City Destination for 2023.

This is no mean feat, but the two awards reveal Miami Beach’s established position as an international destination. Moreover, it is known for offering a celebrated arts and culture scene, along with Michelin-starred restaurants, the city’s famous Art Deco Historic District and, of course, the iconic beaches.

Accepting the two prestigious awards

Christopher Rollins, Chair of the Miami Beach Visitor Convention Authority (MBVCA) spoke at the awards ceremony, saying:

Miami Beach is a global destination that seamlessly blends the natural beauty of our beaches with notable city experiences. We are proud to receive these recent World Travel Awards in the leading beach and leading city categories representing North America.

Miami Beach and its ‘Connect with the Waters’ campaign

The two World Travel Awards come in the wake of MBVCA’s “Connect with the Waters” campaign which was launched this spring. The campaign focused on the area’s idyllic beaches and the surrounding waters.

As part of the campaign, MBVCA released a video series showcasing the organizations offering water and beach-centric experiences in Miami Beach. Readers can view the videos on Instagram under the campaign’s handle, @experiencemiamibeach.

EXP Miami Beach App

Moreover, relating to the city’s beaches, the MBVCA recently released the new EXP Miami Beach App. This is available for download on Apple and Google Play and features various itineraries in the city. Travelers can experience an art deco tour, public art tour, cultural institutions tour and more. Meanwhile, they can also uncover iconic hidden landmarks throughout Miami Beach.
