According to ABC News, Google gathers data from mid-January to mid-March of US travelers to establish travel-related searches ahead of the summer travel season. Meanwhile, the top keywords were “travel itinerary” and “solo travel” which reached an all-time high in January.

Moreover, two top trending “weekend getaway” destinations are Florida Keys and Palm Springs. Those searching for “romantic getaway” destinations were the Napa Valley in California and Florida’s Key West. When searching for all-inclusive resorts, Saint John and La Romana came out tops.

Last year, Google Flights introduced a new feature to allow travelers to book cheaper flights. This feature reveals guidance from the search engine for the most budget-friendly time of year to book flights.

As an example, these new insights could reveal that the cheapest time to book similar journeys is normally two months before departure.
