United Airlines recently announced its new international routes for the summer, but now they are adding even more for winter. In fact, the popular airline is truly taking over the world with its latest expansion in the South Pacific. With their latest announcement, United adds new flights from a number of US cities to Australia and New Zealand. In fact, with all the new flights, the airline offers almost half of the US flights to the region. Meanwhile, to be able to offer the new flights, the airline has made exciting partnerships with Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand
United Airlines launches new flights to Australia and New Zealand
Anyone taking flights to either Australia or New Zealand will have the perfect getaway to head to more than 50 other destinations in the region. Meanwhile, tickets are already on sale for the new flights on United’s website.
New Flights to Australia
Based in Chicago, United Airlines will offer flights to the most popular cities in Australia as follows:
Flights to Brisbane:
United Airlines has already been flying to Brisbane as of late 2022. However, starting November 29, new routes from Los Angeles to Brisbane will be available three times per week on a luxury Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This plane allowed triple the passengers to Brisbane as compared to last year’s winter travel season. In fact, with the new flights, United will be the biggest carrier between the US and Brisbane. Meanwhile, more flights are to be added from San Francisco to Brisbane, with more flights starting October 28.
New flights to Melbourne:
Currently, United already offers 14 weekly trips from the West Coast to Melbourne. However, starting in late October, the airline will upgrade to the Boeing 777-300ER model. This plane will only be available for the San Francisco to Melbourne route, with only the Los Angeles to Melbourne flight using the current aircraft. Meanwhile, the upgrade will offer at least 65 percent more seats for passengers heading to Melbourne.
More United flights to Sydney:
Sydney is a no-brainer when heading to Australia for the first time and luckily, United is making a significant increase in flights. As of October 28, there will be two daily flights from San Francisco to Sydney on a Boeing 777-300ER
New United Airlines flights to New Zealand
New Zealand is an incredibly beautiful country with unique landscapes to explore. Luckily, United is offering more flights to make it easier to get there. New flights will be offered as follows.
Flights to Christchurch:
According to the latest announcements, United will launch the first-ever nonstop route to Christchurch from San Francisco. Flying onboard a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, passengers will be able to choose this route from December 1.
More United flights to Auckland, New Zealand:
While United already services routes to Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city. However, an increased schedule is to be launched from Los Angeles. In fact, passengers will be able to choose from four weekly flights with plans to offer a year-round service on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
Please note that while United has tickets on sale for the winter season, the updated flight plans are still subject to government approval.
