United Airlines recently announced a new route, directly connecting Malaga and New York with three direct flights each week. Starting from May 31, 2023, the three flights will run throughout the summer up until the end of September. This is a seasonal route that Malaga lost in 2019 after Delta Airlines stopped flying between Malaga and JFK Airport. Now, the new direct flights will use Newark Airport instead.

Meanwhile, the inaugural flight is due to arrive in Malaga from Newark at 2.30 pm on May 31. Meanwhile, the first direct flight back leaves on June 2, departing at 8:30 am. The way it works is that the three weekly connections will arrive in Malaga on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Meanwhile, departures from New York will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

All the new direct flights will be on Boeing 757-200 planes with 169 seats. 16 of the seats will be United Polaris business class beds as part of the airline’s premium service. Moreover, the remaining seats will be in economy class, including 45 with extra legroom.

The new United Airlines service will be in addition to flights already operating daily, all year round, by the airline. These flights travel from New York/Newark to Spain’s capital Madrid and the Catalan capital, Barcelona. There are also seasonal flights to Madrid and Barcelona from Washington Dulles, and Tenerife in the Canary Islands and Palma de Mallorca in the Balearic Islands from New York/Newark. Moreover, a new seasonal service from Chicago O’Hare to Barcelona will start on May 6, 2023.

From next year, United Airlines will operate in five Spanish cities, which is more than any other American airline. Meanwhile, it will also be the only airline working with Malaga, Tenerife and Palma de Mallorca.

This offers Americans an easy, direct route to some of the best cities in Spain, all of which have so much to offer. The addition of Malaga is particularly interesting as the city stands on the Costa del Sol which runs along the Mediterranean coast with many exciting beach resorts and attractions. Meanwhile, it is also known as the “Costa del Golf” for the excellent golf courses along the way.

Meanwhile, United Airlines is launching other new routes to Stockholm in Sweden, and Dubai in the UAE in 2023. On top of this, the airline is adding six new services to some of the most popular European destinations, including Barcelona, Berlin, London, Paris, and Rome.

Moreover, in total, United Airlines will be flying to 37 cities in Africa, Europe and the Middle East from next summer. This is said to be more destinations than any of the other American airlines put together.
