Let’s start with an impressive castle in Stockholm that is famous now for its murder mystery and paranormal weekends. It turns out that Count Gustav Horn, one of the previous owners of Häringe Castle, lost his son Axel at the age of two. Nowadays, guests report that the child is haunting them, crying at night and sneaking into their bed for comfort. This may sound scary but give it a go this Halloween. If that sounds too spooky, take part in one of the castle’s murder mystery weekends away from the holiday.

Noors Castle has a haunting history, as told by author Verner von Heidenstam, who stayed there in 1898. While writing the final chapter of his book, Karolinerna, he claims he was visited by the ghost of King Karl XII. According to the author:

His face was white as plaster. The gloves were white. The ghost sat down in a chair with his sword across his lap.

However, while you might not be lucky enough to get a Swedish king haunting you during your stay, other eerie things are known to happen. Sometimes, people have seen the balls on the billiard table rolling on their own at night. Others have said they heard doors opening and closing on their own. Sounds like a spooky castle to us!
