United Offers 20 New Routes For Your Vacation This Summer

As travel continues to return across the globe, United Airlines will soon be launching more than 20 new routes to great destinations. Meanwhile, 27 destinations will open up throughout Asia in 2023. However, not all of the locations are new to United, as some are being relaunched.

Recently, United resumed the Denver – Tokyo and San Francisco – Hong Kong routes, but two new routes could be of interest. One is Washington, DC to Tokyo and the other is Los Angeles to Tokyo, Japan.

New international routes from Newark, NJ

It was recently reported that United Airlines is restoring a former route direct to Dubai. In fact, one of United’s major hubs, Newark Liberty International Airport will see some of the most anticipated flight options in 2023. The airport in Newark, NJ is conveniently placed for both New Yorkers and New Jerseyans.

Malaga, Spain and Stockholm, Sweden

While the Newark – Dubai route was already launched in March, two other routes are likely to be as attractive, namely Newark to Malaga, Spain and Newark to Stockholm, Sweden. The new Malaga flights take off on May 31, with United offering three flights each week on a Boeing 757-200.

In fact, United has more routes to Spain than any other domestic airline and the flight to Malaga will certainly be popular, with access to the Costa del Sol. As for Stockholm, direct flights will begin on May 27 after the airline took a four-year hiatus from Stockholm flights.

More United options to Europe

However, it isn’t only Malaga and Stockholm, as United is getting ready for more international routes. In fact, with their ambitious plans for summer, United hopes to have 100 international cities in their network, including some of Europe’s best destinations. The following routes are all new and will launch on May 25 on a Boeing 757-200:

  • Chicago to Shannon, Ireland
  • Chicago to Barcelona, Spain
  • Washington, DC to Berlin, Germany
  • San Francisco to Rome, Italy

United is the only domestic carrier to offer nonstop flights to Shannon from Chicago. Meanwhile, from the same airport, travelers will climb on board a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner to visit fascinating Barcelona.

Meanwhile, nonstop daily flights are to be offered daily between Washington, DC and Berlin, Germany. Moreover, the airline will also offer more than 20 daily flights to London from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Newark, Boston and Denver.

United flights to Paris, France

As always, Paris will be a major draw in summer and United will offer numerous flight options from Newark, Washington, DC, Chicago and San Francisco.

However, the airline will be launching flights to four locations served by no other US airline, including Palma de Mallorca, Spain, Amman, Jordan, Azores, Portugal and Tenerife, Spain. Meanwhile, United will also restart flights from:

  • Newark to Nice, France
  • Denver to Munich
  • Germany
  • Boston to London, UK
  • Chicago to Zurich, Switzerland
  • Chicago to Milan, Italy.

Seasonal flights will also be offered from Newark to Edinburgh, Scotland, from May 25 to October 27. Moreover, United will offer Newark to Naples, Italy from June 23 to September 7.

United expands routes in Australia

Besides Europe, United will be adding three major Australian cities with nonstop flights from the US. These include Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, through a recent partnership with Virgin Australia.
