United Airlines announced in September 2022 that the airline has officially joined forces with Emirates and its sister airline flydubai. Meanwhile, under this partnership, travelers will be able to connect to more than 100 destinations from Dubai. All this, with just a single booking via United’s official website or app.

What can travelers expect from the United Airlines partnership?

This week, United Airlines announced the launch of its highly anticipated new route, Newark (EWR) to Dubai (DBX). In fact, the airline is the only United States carrier providing a nonstop service to Dubai. On the other hand, United will also provide Emirates passengers easy access to more than 200 American destinations.

Of interest to note, the route was previously in service some years ago but was dropped in 2016 after the airlines disagreed over market shares.

Meanwhile, Emirates passengers have had the option to fly to nearby JFK airport directly for years, where they can enjoy an upscale lounge that will remain open under the new partnership. Moreover, the airline has also flown to Newark, but that particular route had a stopover in Greece. With the new partnership, everything will be more streamlined.

About the flight

While the flight is direct, it is also pretty long, as the 7,000-mile journey takes 14 hours to complete. Meanwhile, flights will operate daily out of Newark as follows:

• Departure at 10:15 pm with arrival at 7:40 pm the following day.

Meanwhile, a daily return trip from Dubai to Newark is as follows:

• Departure at 2:15 am and arriving at 9:05 am on the same calendar day.

Those flying in United’s Polaris business class will have access to an adjustable headrest that shapes in six different ways, as well as multiple storage options for personal items. On top of this, it offers a console for water bottles, a universal power outlet for electronic devices and a cocktail table that expands to offer more space. On top of this, Live TV is provided via DIRECTV.

All these benefits are available on the Boeing 777-200ER, which has officially set off on its first Newark to Dubai flight this week.
