Anyone who has ever wanted to travel around the world by train in luxury, rather than cramped couchettes is now in luck. High-end travel agent Railbookers recently announced the return of its Around the World by Luxury Train itinerary for 2025.
Passengers will get to spend 59 days on various luxurious trains, traveling over four continents, and visiting 12 countries and more than 20 cities. However, this opulent opportunity isn’t available to everyone as the journey costs a remarkable €116,000 ($114,448) per person, and it isn’t all-inclusive. Whether readers can afford it or not, read on for more details about the around-the-world train journey.
Around the world on luxury trains
Meanwhile, guests will travel on seven of the world’s most luxurious trains. These include the Belmond Royal Scotsman in Scotland, La Dolce Vita Orient Express in Italy and the Venice Simplon-Orient Express, all of which take passengers to several countries in Europe.
For those travelers in Canada, they will climb aboard the Rocky Mountaineer, while those in South Africa will get to ride with Rovos Rail.

About the Railbookers itinerary
Next guests board a six-hour flight to Delhi, India, a flight that is not included in Railbookers’ price. After exploring some of the most iconic destinations in India, including Agra, Delhi and Jaipur, guests will hop onto a (not included) 14-hour flight to Johannesburg, South Africa.
Guests will board a Rovos Rail train to explore parts of South Africa, then Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. Once the Zimbabwe leg is over, guests will have to pay for another flight back to South Africa, where they will tour iconic and beautiful Cape Town. Guests will enjoy visiting Table Mountain and sampling local wines before getting on a plane to Singapore.
After the 13.5-hour journey, passengers will climb aboard the Eastern and Orient Express to travel from Singapore, through Malaysia and then back to Singapore for the flight home (also not included).
