SeaWorld Orlando Reveals Opening Date Of Newest Attraction

SeaWorld Orlando announces opening date for Expedition Odyssey
The new attraction is hailed as an innovative experience, blending advanced ride technology, stunning real-life imagery and up-close and personal interactions with Arctic animals, which makes what SeaWorld Orlando dubs its most immersive Arctic adventure yet.
Officially opening on May 1, 2025, Expedition Odyssey blends dynamic motion, authentic animal interactions and cutting-edge visuals that go far beyond a typical theme park ride. It is an immersive adventure that seamlessly fuses simulation with reality.
Meanwhile, guests will embark on a thrilling expedition across massive glaciers, sweeping icy tundra, and below the frigid surface of the Arctic Ocean. While there, they will come face-to-face with some of the world’s most remarkable wildlife.
State-of-the-art ride system
Moreover, Expedition Odyssey offers a state-of-the-art ride system offering an unparalleled range of motion, delivering smooth, lifelike movements through each turn, dive and swoop. The attraction enhances the realism by incorporating exclusive, real-life footage filmed in remote Arctic regions. Through this, guests are immersed in vivid encounters with such exciting Arctic species, including polar bears, beluga whales, orcas, walruses, seals, and more.
Expedition Odyssey has been created to captivate explorers of every age, and upholds SeaWorld Orlando’s legacy of family-friendly excitement with a minimum height requirement of just 39 inches. Due to this, children and adults alike can share in the Arctic adventure together. Moreover, as the new attraction is entirely indoors, it features a thrilling, climate-controlled escape no matter the weather and at any time of the year.
Enter a living Arctic habitat on Expedition Odyssey
The excitement doesn’t end with the ride as, when disembarking, guests enter a living Arctic habitat where they can see real marine animals, including seals, walruses and beluga whales.
Moreover, one of the major stars of the habitat is Uki, a young Pacific walrus calf rescued in Alaska. After Uki was deemed non-releasable by the Alaska SeaLife Center, the walrus calf traveled to SeaWorld Orlando last September, where she remains under the dedicated care of the park’s animal specialists. Uki now lives comfortably in the new Arctic exhibit, helping to inspire empathy and awareness for wildlife conservation.
Meanwhile, guests seeking a more intimate encounter with Arctic wildlife can enjoy SeaWorld’s behind-the-scenes experiences, including the Beluga Whales Up-Close Tour. This exclusive encounter allows guests to stand at the poolside with these remarkable marine mammals. Through this, they can gain insight into the animals’ intelligence, unique behaviours, and the conservation efforts dedicated to their protection.

Jon Peterson, Park President of SeaWorld Orlando, said in a statement:
