September doesn’t always get the attention that July and August do, but seasoned travellers know it has a lot going for it because the frantic summer rush starts winding down across much of the Northern Hemisphere. Then there’s the added advantage that the weather becomes mild while at the same time, many hotels and airlines start lowering their prices.
Perfect Weather
Right now, there’s a heat wave in Europe, especially in France, but the weather in September usally seems much milder, so the extreme heat of August should start fading away. Milder weather means that people can get outside without fear of too much heat, and enjoy exploring the side streets, parks, and bistros.

September is also a great time for wildlife watching, and the famous East African wildebeest migration in the Serengeti and Masai Mara attracts a lot of attention because the predators follow the big herds.
