Hotel Review: Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki - Wonderful Experience - Best View on the Beach!

As I pulled into the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki, my driver blurted out, “This is one of the nicest hotels on the island.” Indeed it was.  What was in store for me during my visit was unimaginable prior to stepping foot onto the property.  Not just another nice hotel, this is thee travel destination for VIP’s.  As I toured the property, I thought to myself that this could possibly be one of Hawaii’s best kept secrets.  Today, I am going to take you through my personal experiences during my visit at this grand hotel.

First Impression

My tour was conducted by Dara, Darla, and Ayaka who were gracious enough to sit and speak with me about the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki and my experiences in Hawaii thus far.  They gave me a general overview, and I was presented with a packet of materials that went over the specs of the property.  In addition to my meeting and tour, I went back to the hotel a second time and wrote this article based on both my guided tour and solo experience.  My guided tour was conducted on 4/16, and my sole experience took place on Easter during the evening hours after a long day of holiday foot traffic.

What I can honestly say is that the level of customer service was consistently great.  During the evening of April 20th, I participated in the hotel’s holiday dinner buffet.  I made reservations and was impressed at how each of the wait staff referred to me by name addressing me throughout my meal.  I can’t say that I have ever experienced that at any hotel. Outside of the dining experience, as I walked through the property I couldn’t help but feel as if the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki was the beginning of a lifetime of memories. This hotel is the ideal location for a honeymoon or lost weekend with a loved one. During the start of the tour on April 16th, Darla casually mentioned that all of the rooms in the hotel have an ocean front view.  I responding by saying, “You’re joking right”?!

Each and every single room at the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki has this spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.  I know that I am writing as if I am doing copy for a commercial, but in all honesty I could have lived and died by the views from the rooms on the property.  The epitome of beauty of the Hawaiian Islands can be seen through the windows of the Hawaii Prince hotel.  Don’t just take my word for it, look at the pictures below and judge for yourself.  Additionally, all of the room have floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall views.  From the standard rooms, to the penthouses… every room can be easily referred to as a VIP suite.  The Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki consist of 2 towers, 541 guest suites which include 57 luxury suites, a swimming pool overlooking the harbor, and a Gulf Club designed by Arnold Palmer (separate from property, shuttle service provided).

location, Location, LOCATION!

My visit to Hawaii was the first of many to come.  During my six week stay here I realized that although there is almost never a bad view in Hawaii, there are some views that are better than others.  The Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki host one of the best views on Waikiki.  The way the hotel is positioned, it puts you on the less crowded end of Waikiki. You will surely appreciate that perk point once you experience the opposite end of the spectrum.  From this location, you also have the best vantage point of the Friday night fireworks… something I guarantee you would want to see as it is spectacular to say the least.  The property has views overlooking the Pacific Ocean, which includes 2 yacht clubs, and a stretch of land that was used for the opening sequence of television show, Gilligan’s Island.

Food and Spirits

Honestly, one of the best buffet experiences can be found at the Prince Court restaurant located inside of the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki.  I have visited other restaurants with similar setups and I wasn’t as impressed as I was here.  There is a different theme for each night which may include Japanese, Hawaiian, American, and Brunch… they keep it interesting for guest not looking to venture to far from the property.

The Reef Lounge is home to one of the friendliest bartenders on the island, Larry. He made a drink called the Royal Prince that consisted of Bourbon, Passion Fruit Puree, and OJ.  It is basically a tropical bourbon Mai Tai.  It was extremely delicious!

The TMT gals highly recommend the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki without reservation.  With is comfortable rooms, phenomenal views, excellent service and yummy food it is the perfect location for a honeymoon or a romantic weekend with a loved one.
