Take A Sustainable Glass-Domed Train From Colorado To Utah In 2021For a truly scenic adventure, relax on the Rocky Mountaineer glass-domed train watching the beautiful scenery go by.

The Rocky Mountaineer train company has announced plans to introduce a new Colorado to Utah route on its luxurious, glass-domed trains in 2021. Dubbed the “Rockies to the Red Rocks” route, passengers will enjoy a two-day rail journey from Denver to Moab. Along the way, an overnight stay will be enjoyed in Glenwood Springs.

As the trains journey between Denver and Glenwood Springs, they will cruise slowly alongside the Colorado River, while passengers relax and enjoy the views. The route also takes the trains through a number of canyons, lined with rugged, steep rock walls. Meanwhile, between Glenwood Spring and Moab, passengers will get to enjoy a variety of scenery, including desert cliffs, mountain vistas and rock formations. All from the comfort of their luxurious seat onboard the train.

Entertainment On The Journey

Passengers on this new daytime route will not only enjoy the beautiful scenery as it rolls by the glass-domed coaches. They will also be entertained with onboard storytelling and delicious regional cuisine.

The train company is also collaborating with hotels, tour operators and local tourism organizations to put together custom vacation packages. The packages will include activities, tours and stays in Moab and Denver, so passengers can truly experience even more of this beautiful part of the world.

The new Rockies to the Red Rocks route is to be added to the company’s three, existing rail routes on luxury trains through Canada, between Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies towns of Lake Louise, Jasper and Banff.

Sustainable Train Travel

Besides the luxury and the gorgeous scenic onboard views, the train offers sustainable travel through the Canadian Rockies. The train is also involved in various efforts to preserve the environment throughout Canada for future generations.

Steve Sammut is the president and chief executive officer of Rocky Mountainer. He said in a statement that, “The work to find a new route has been underway for several years as we needed to find a special location with many of the same features we have in western Canada – incredible scenery, iconic destinations and the option for an all daytime, multi-day journey that is best experienced by train.”

“Rockies to the Red Rocks will have all of this and more, and is an opportunity to bring our award-winning Rocky Mountaineer experience to showcase the epic scenery of the southwest United States.”
