Celebrity Cruises Begins Sailing in June 2021 With Ticketed Passengers

Celebrity Cruises will be sailing in America again in June 2021. According to the cruise line, it is the first operator to operate in U.S. waters with ticketed passengers since 2020 when the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a “No Sail Order” due to the deadly and devastating coronavirus pandemic.

The travel industry has slowly been getting back on its feet and the Celebrity Cruise news is the latest in a string of positive re-openings in the cruise industry.

At the current time the CDC is requiring cruise lines to meet a number of standards before they can begin sailing again. According to Travel and Leisure one of these mandates is that the line must show that 98% of crew members and 95% of passengers are fully vaccinated and/or complete a series of tests.

According to the company’s Healthy at Sea policy, Celebrity Cruises will require its crew to be vaccinated, as well as all guests ages 16 and older. Starting August 1, all guests who are 12 and older will be required to be vaccinated.

Passengers ages 16 and up must be fully vaccinated with all COVID-19 vaccine doses administered at least 14 days before sailing onboard Royal Caribbean.
