Carnival Cruise Line To Offer 5G Coverage On Carnival Jubilee
Carnival Cruise Line to offer 5G connectivity on Carnival Jubilee
In this modern world, people want to be constantly connected, even when enjoying a cruise. The use of modern mobile phones has made connectivity an essential part of peoples’ lives and they cannot be without it. Gone are the days when you step onboard and shut away your normal daily life.
According to Cruise Hive, the cruise line is working through a partnership with cellular provider Wireless Maritime Service to offer 5G connectivity on the Carnival Jubilee. Not only is this the first Carnival Cruise Line ship to offer the service, but this is also the first cruise ship in North America to offer the service.
Luis Terife, Carnival Cruise Line’s VP of onboard guest commerce made the announcement, saying:
Carnival Jubilee will be the fleet’s most-connected ship – literally raising the connectivity bar for our guests and serving as another big step in a period of vigorous advancement of our onboard connectivity.
The ongoing enhancements we’re rolling out on all of our ships, such as SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service, make it significantly easier for guests to share the memorable experiences of their cruise with friends and family.
When will the 5G service be available?
Carnival Jubilee is the first to get 5G capabilities, but not the last. Following the initial launch on that cruise ship, Carnival plans to launch the same 5G service across its ships throughout its fleet.
Meanwhile, the cruise line has enhanced its Wi-Fi offerings across its fleet. Carnival has recently completed upgrades on all 25 vessels to put in place the infrastructure for using SpaceX’s Starlink Satellite Service. On top of this, the cruise line has formed partnerships with other Internet providers to equip its ships with multi-provider functionality.
When does Carnival Jubilee launch?
The cruise line’s new cruise ship, Carnival Jubilee, sets sail from Galveston on December 23. The vessel will offer week-long Western Caribbean itineraries, including favorite destinations. Moreover, among them will be Cozumel and the Costa Maya, Mexico and Mahogany Bay (Roatan), Honduras.
