Set-Jetting: Paramount Global Teams Up With Dharma For Emily In Paris Trips
Paramount Global and Dharma team up for Emily in Paris curated group trips
This is the latest example of the new travel trend, “set-jetting,” where people travel the world to visit sets of TV shows and movies. The trend allows fans to experience the world experienced by their favorite TV or movie character.
PR News Wire quotes Dharma co-founder and CEO Charaf el Mansouri, as saying this kind of trip aligns with the startup’s “core conviction,” that the future of travel is not just about “where,” but also about “why.”
“Series like Emily in Paris make you wish there was a ‘Book This Trip’ button at the end of every episode,” Mansouri said. “That’s the opportunity ahead, and the kind of transformational travel so many of us seek.”
Will the trips be marketed in Emily in Paris season 4?
Not at launch, but with current trends around prioritizing experiences over things, experiences like these might just be the ‘merch’ of the future.
Meanwhile, Dharma is set to manage bookings, payments and guests’ experiences, while trips are to be hosted by lifestyle influencers dubbed “Emileaders.”
How will the trips work?
Meanwhile, Marie Marks, Senior Vice President of Themed Experiences is excited about teaming up with Dharma. “People want to participate in experiences that bring their favorite brands to life in compelling and innovative ways that extend beyond the screen,” she explained.
Of course, this isn’t the first time tours have been created relating to the Netflix show, as there is already a walking tour that takes fans through the set in Paris. However, it seems the Dharma trip will be even more immersive.
