Meanwhile, it isn’t just Star Wars and Game of Thrones that were filmed here. The city has also starred in lesser-known movies like Group 7, Carmen and Nobody Knows Anybody. Moreover, Seville has also been featured in iconic movies like Lawrence of Arabia, Kingdom of Heaven, The Dictator and Knight and Day.

Here we explore some of the most recognizable film sets in Seville, after which you might find yourself bingeing Game of Thrones or the Star Wars movies all over again. In fact, this is one set-jetting paradise for fans.

Seville’s iconic Plaza de España will bring back memories of the Palace of the Kingdom of Naboo. Here, you might feel like a Jedi master exploring the gallery or even Queen Amidala.

When viewing the video below, you will see that the filmmakers took some CGI liberties with this historic site. Instead of being semi-circular, the plaza was made circular for its role as the Palace. Meanwhile, a few more domes were added, but you will still recognize the location.

This next film set appeared in Game of Thrones, where the Water Garden at the Royal Alcazar of Seville was hardly changed for the series. It was that perfect as a film set. While exploring, imagine you are Khaleesi, resting in the Water Garden of Dorne in the far southern region of Westeros.

Switching from emblematic Moorish architecture to ancient Roman ruins, this next location starred in season 7 of Game of Thrones in the Royal Dockyards. Several scenes were filmed here in Italica’s ancient Roman amphitheater in Santiponce, close to Seville.

When you see the amphitheater, as it was in the show, you will see that little change was necessary to the film set, except that no dragons exist in the city.
