According to the Travel Regulations Map maintained by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Colombia no longer requires international travelers to present COVID proof for entry as of May 4, 2023. This means no more pre-travel testing or health checks on arrival in the country.

What do you need to travel to the country?

Of course, this is particularly good news for unvaccinated travelers, especially those coming from the US, who had their movements to and from Colombia restricted before. However, there is one requirement that hasn’t been dropped.

Visitors still need to complete the CheckMig form, but now there are no questions relating to COVID tests or vaccinations. This is the only requirement for those visiting the South American country. Basically, travelers must complete the CheckMig form at most 72 hours, or up to one hour prior to departure.

The CheckMig platform was introduced during the pandemic as a pre-travel registration. Now, it serves as a travel permit that must be completed, or travelers could be denied boarding. The form is free to apply for and it applies to all travelers, irrespective of vaccination status. The form can be found here.

Meanwhile, the Colombian Consulate in Paris, France, has confirmed that the South American country has officially returned to its pre-pandemic entry regulations. In other words, as long as travelers satisfy visa requirements and present a valid passport, entry will be hassle-free from now on. Meanwhile, US and Canadian passport holders have the added benefit of being allowed to remain in Colombia for up to six months without applying for a visa in advance.
