2017 F-150 Ford Raptor Off-Road Efficient Truck Packs 450 Horsepower #FordNAIAS 4

The 2015 Ford NAIAS Digital Summit was filled with amazing vehicles. The 2016 Lincoln MKX defined luxury, the new GT dropped jaws and, last but certainly not least, the 2017 F-150 Ford Raptor stunned as the new off-road efficient truck, packing 450 horsepower! The look of the truck is sleek, aggressive, and conveys that the vehicle is so much more than just a truck. Ford’s goal was to make it “immediately recognizable,” and they succeeded. Made with military-grade, aluminum alloy in its body and bed, it trims the weight off the vehicle to aid in its surprising efficiency.

Under the hood, you’ll find an impressive engine. Ford’s product development chief, Raj Nair, reportedly shared the 2017 Raptor boasts an all-new high-output 3.5L EcoBoost engine with turbocharged V6 – able to put out 450 horsepower!

That rivals its predecessor using a 411 horsepower 434-lb-ft 6.2L V8 in the SVT Raptor. Numbers for torque haven’t been confirmed, but you can bet this beast will be able to outshine the previous Raptor, which offered 424 pound-feet.

As with the rest of Ford’s latest lineup, the truck is smart, too. The new Raptor also packs new LED lighting, available 360-degree camera, available imposing tailgate, and the standard all-new Terrain Management System. The controls allow drivers to easily optimize the driving dynamics of the Raptor to environmental conditions.

The 2017 F-150 Raptor is triple threat of power, technology, and efficiency. That means it will be at the top of consumer’s MUST-HAVE lists.

The experience was even more amazing by watching the vehicle being built! Tourist Meets Traveler was lucky enough to be touring the The Rouge Factory, while an F150 was created.
