Recovering from Coachella 2015: Chronicles of an EPIC Weekend in the Desert

This is the tale of a lost adventure in the desert that resulted in an unforgettable weekend. Yes, this took place two weeks ago, but it takes time to recover from the modern day epic adventures of Coachella 2015. It’s fair to say that I was the only person I know that set out for a solo adventure to Indio, California for Coachella. This was my first live Coachella experience and the first time in 20 years since I last visited the Palm Springs area. Let me take a moment to remind everyone that Palm Springs/Indio/ Rancho Mirage/ the Devil’s Vacation Spot are all in the same patch of D-E-S-E-R-T. No amount of sunblock will protect you. The blistering sun felt like judgment day gone wrong, and leaving the hotel suite without sunglasses was not an option as they melted to my face. The sun served as a constant reminder to me at every turn that there are no shadows to scamper to and avoid its reach. With all that being said, drinking hard liquor was probably not the smartest idea… but *shrugs* cheers to the weekend, bitches! I came back with sunburn in places the light of day never sees, loll. If I could do it all over again, I would. You don’t have to ask me twice to sign up next year!

Let’s get back to my chronicles. The highlight of my trip was attending the Bootsy Bellows estate party that was hosted by GM & McDonalds for the third year in a row. Every celebrity not at the Coachella festival was in attendance at this highly anticipated festival pool party. This event was uber exclusive and (in essence) invite only. Guests drove to a designated parking location (then blind folded, lolll) and then shuttled off to a private mansion owned by baseball player Coco Crisp. The celebrities just kept rolling through. I personally saw THOR’s little brother and Miley’s ex Liam Hemsworth. Chris Brown, 2 Chainz, Fergie, and the vampire from Twilight were also walking around. I got to ride on the party shuttle with my personal favorite/spirit animal, Amber Rose. She smelled like popsicles and fairy dust! There is no doubt that I am #TeamAmber all the way loll.

Did I mention the open bar and free chicken nuggets made from scratch? Hmmm… well it was certainly worth mentioning. I must say that I had the most amazing time ever while in attendance. Thank you to the McDonalds team for the personal invitation to attend Coachella. I hope to see you again next year. J

Other notable parties included the Popsugar party, and the Adidas party that featured guest DJ, Questlove. Of course there was the actual festival itself with acts spanning most every genre of music. There truly was someone performing for everyone with the golden ticket bka wristband. All-in-all it was a good time for all music lovers.
