Experience The Multi-Sensory Vincent Van Gogh Exhibition In The USA

Experience The Multi-Sensory Vincent Van Gogh Exhibition In The USAAfter a stellar success touring Europe, Australia and Asia, the multi-sensory Vincent Van Gogh exhibition is heading to the US.

The highly anticipated Van Gogh Live has toured Europe, Australia and Asia and is now heading to the US for the first time. This multi-sensory Vincent Van Gogh exhibition is heading to the Salvador Dali Museum in Florida, the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields followed by the Germania Club Building in Chicago.

Van Gogh Live in St Petersburg, Florida

Van Gogh Live’s first stop is at the Salvador Dali Museum in Florida, opening on November 21. According to organizers, this will be the first museum in the USA to host an exhibition of this scale. Patrons will get to experience this art using ceiling digital projection, with around 3,000 moving images to illuminate Vincent Van Gogh’s brushstrokes in larger-than-life scenes. Basically, visitors will have the opportunity to step inside the Dutch artist’s iconic paintings.

The colorful projections will be accompanied by a musical soundscape, adding to the dreamlike quality of the experience. Meanwhile, appropriate aromas will be filtered through the auditorium, allowing museum-goers to smell Van Gogh’s sunflowers.

Australian-based Grande Experiences are behind this incredible exhibition, which has been presented in 50 cities worldwide. It first debuted in Paris in 2019 as “La nuit étoilée” (Starry Night). It is said to be the most-visited multi-sensory exhibition in the world. It will be available here until April 11, 2021.

Next stop THE LUME Indianapolis

Once the exhibition completes its run in St. Petersburg, the next stop is THE LUME Indianapolis, a new experiential gallery in Newfields. Here from June 2021, it will occupy the entire fourth floor of the museum, offering some 30,000 sq ft of immersive, digital art. This will be the largest continuous exhibition space in THE LUME’s 137-year history. By using this space, organizers hope to attract a more diverse audience to experience and enjoy beautiful art in a less-formal setting.

Dr. Charles L. Venable, CEO of Newfields, said in a statement, “I am very pleased that we have been able to partner with Grande Experiences to become the first museum in the country to fully embrace the future of digital exhibitions.”

“My experience on other continents demonstrated how the combination of cutting-edge digital projection technology and great works of art can motivate new audiences to engage with art exhibitions.”

The operators have signed a five-year lease with the building, so once the Van Gogh exhibition is over, more interactive exhibitions will appear here.
