Does A Glitch On Walt Disney World Website Mean FastPass+ Could Return?

Does A Glitch On Walt Disney World Website Mean FastPass+ Could Return?

Disney fans will recall that in mid-July last year, Walt Disney World reopened its theme parks during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, a number of safety protocols were put in place, including the temporary elimination of the handy FastPass+. As various precautions are now easing up, Walt Disney World continues to modify its safety protocols. Does this mean they could be ready to reintroduce FastPass+? Due to a glitch happening to some people on the website, it does sound like this could be a possibility.

What is FastPass+?

FastPass+ is a handy option, which allows guests at the theme parks to select certain attractions before they leave home and allows them to bypass the lines for their chosen attractions. They would pick their desired attraction, choose a time frame, and this would then be linked to their My Disney Experience account.

Once in the theme park and the time arrives for their chosen ride, they would head to the attraction queue, scan their MagicBand or ticket/Annual Pass and skip the line. This meant that not only could the guests conveniently experience other attractions in the theme park, but it also helped to manage to limit the number of guests standing in the physical line.

Is this a handy option for guests to have? Definitely! However, as mentioned above, the FastPass+ plus is still temporarily disabled. Currently, the official Walt Disney World website states:

“As a result of the COVID-19 impact on operations, the FastPass+ service is suspended for the time being. FastPass+ service is not offered with the purchase of tickets or annual passes. We will share future updates at a later date.”

Does A Glitch On Walt Disney World Website Mean FastPass+ Could Return?

Glitch on the Walt Disney World website

Despite this confirmation that the FastPast+ service is still not currently available, some Disney fans have experienced a glitch on the Walt Disney World website while in the My Disney Experience section. The glitch seems to hint that the FastPass+ service could be returning soon.

Those people who have a Walt Disney World vacation booked and log into My Disney Experience on the website may notice a familiar button popping up – FastPass+. While not everybody is experiencing the glitch, it is an exciting hint that the amenity could be returning soon to the Walt Disney World website.

Dream Travel by Jenny is one user who experienced the glitch. She made a post to Instagram, sharing a screengrab of her My Disney Experience screen. While admittedly, the FastPast+ button is grayed out, it is clear to see. She posted on Instagram to write,

“Could it be coming back?!?!”

“There are whispers and hints online that @waltdisneyworld could be bringing back fastpasses! #fingerscrossed #fastpass #fastpass2021 #waltdisneyworld #disney #familyvacation #parkdays #mickeymouse #summertravel #travelisback #dreamtravelbyjenny”

FastPast+ still suspended for now

It seems clear that the glitch is only happening to random accounts and not to everyone. Should anyone experience the glitch, it is important to remember that at this time, FastPass+ is still suspended and Disney has yet to make an announcement as to if or when the handy amenity will return.
