There is fantastic news that Viking has once again been named #1 River Line and #1 Ocean Line by Condé Nast Traveler as well as #1 for both Rivers and Oceans by Travel + Leisure. This epic milestone means that Viking stands alone at the pinnacle as it has accomplished what no other cruise line has done–simultaneously earned #1 in its Categories from both publications in the same year.

Viking Reaches Incredible Milestone

For the second year in a row, Viking has achieved something no other cruise line has, been voted both the Best River Line and the Best Ocean Line by Condé Nast Traveler in the publication’s 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards AND named #1 for both rivers and oceans by Travel + Leisure. Will this wonderful repeat be turned into a three-peat in 2023? Only time will tell!

Nearly a quarter of a million (more than 240,000) Condé Nast Traveler readers rated their travel experiences for the 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards. Due to their incredible accomplishment, Viking will be featured in the November U.S. and U.K. print editions of Condé Nast Traveler. For starters, in January Viking Expeditions launched the purpose-built Viking Octantis®, and her sister ship, the Viking Polaris®, debuted last week. Also earlier in the year, Viking welcomed eight new Viking Longships® on the rivers of Europe.

The record-setting company also debuted new purpose-built vessels for the Nile, Mekong and Mississippi Rivers as well as one new ocean ship, the Viking Mars®.

But Viking is not done yet–by year’s end the legendary company will have debuted an additional identical ocean ship, the Viking Neptune®.
