Over the years, the idea of train travel as a vacation in itself has been a popular choice. Experiencing luxurious options like the Orient Express, or traveling the Trans-Siberian rail were popular choices for those with time to spare.

However, these days, train travel is becoming a vacation in itself, sitting back, relaxing and watching the passing view, enjoying excellent cuisine and sleeping in comfort. Not only is this a comfortable mode of travel, but it also reduces travelers’ carbon footprint along the way.

Now, this new train route gives travelers a fresh look at the beautiful north Italian coastal region of Liguria. The new service is operated by Nightjet, the sleeper service run by Austria’s national rail provider ÖBB. Meanwhile, this runs trains from Germany and Austria right across Italy and down the beautiful Ligurian coast.

The new Nightjet service actually offers two new routes, one from Munich, Germany and the other from Vienna in Austria. However, both new routes run through Verona, Milan and Genoa before heading down the coast to La Spezia, the second-largest Ligurian city.
