New York City is magical at any time of the year, but when it comes to the holidays, the Big Apple is really special for set-jetting. Now On Location Tours has made it even more special by offering fans and their families a tour of the film sets of many beloved Christmas movies. Who can forget Home Alone and Home Alone 2 or Elf, movies regularly watched again during the holidays? But it’s not just those movies. Set-jetters can also visit the filming locations of Mr. Popper’s Penguins and Serendipity and so much more.

Home Alone and Home Alone 2 are two of the most beloved movies to watch over the holidays each year. While partaking of an On Location Tour, you’ll head to the iconic Rockefeller Center, where Kevin McCallister reunites with his mom in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

Meanwhile, Elf, famously starring Will Ferrell, is another classic staple of the holiday season and, of course, scenes from New York are featured in the movie, which is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Meanwhile, the tour takes you through several Manhattan neighborhoods, including the Upper West Side, Midtown and the Upper East Side. In the latter, you will head to Bloomingdales to gaze at the department store’s holiday window displays. Here, fans of the movie could spot the black cashmere gloves as seen in Serendipity.

Other beloved holiday movies were also filmed in New York City and the tour takes you to Macy’s spectacular holiday window displays, just like you saw in Miracle on 34th Street. Of course, this is the home of Macy’s famous holiday parade.

In Manhattan, you’re sure to recognize scenes from The Family Man and Eloise at Christmastime. The tour takes you down Fifth Avenue, ending at Bryant Park, which hosts the ice skating rink that has starred in many Christmas movies.

However, the tour isn’t just about movies as it is also a great sightseeing tour for anyone wanting to see more of the Big Apple. Even better, the tour guides are local New York City actors and actresses. Along the way, they will test you with fun trivia questions, and share little-known facts and behind-the-scenes information about the movies. While doing so, they get everyone firmly into the holiday spirit (if they aren’t already there!).
