Capella Singapore unveils The Pineapple Room, an ode to Sentosa Island’s storied history as a pineapple plantation. The hotel’s lobby and living room interiors have been newly transformed with a beautiful fresh look.

Capella Singapore is delighted to announce the opening of the hotel’s latest bar concept, The Pineapple Room. Situated above the hotel lobby, The Pineapple Room nestles in the heart of the resort’s iconic heritage Tanah Merah building.

The welcoming haven honors Sentosa Island’s little-known past as a flourishing pineapple plantation in the 1880s. The reimagined hotel lobby offers access to The Pineapple Room with its welcoming central seating, with its renewed warmth and sophistication. The wallpaper is in warm, neutral tones and features flora and fauna.

Meanwhile, photos of Singapore from 1940s to 1960s that were taken by renowned architectural photographer and heritage conservationist, Marjorie Doggett, set the scene for the inviting interiors of The Living Room and The Pineapple Room as guests ascend the stairs.

By day, The Living Room offers a cozy retreat, where hotel guests can relax and enjoy light refreshments and beverages. Between 3 pm and 5 pm, afternoon tea is available. By dusk, The Living Room transforms into The Pineapple Room. Meanwhile, this elevated bar experience has been designed to inspire meaningful conversations and authentic connections.

The newly refreshed Pineapple Room pays homage to The Living Room, which was once a social space for the Royal Artillery to enjoy tea parties and celebrations with their loved ones. Meanwhile, the furnishings bring to life the bygone era, with rattan chairs, with vintage orb lighting features that cast a soft, nostalgic glow.

The centerpiece is a rich, dark-teak bar crowned with a Carrara marble top with a matching backsplash. It exudes regal opulence and stands in beautiful contrast to the pristine walls.

Moreover, the interior design is elegantly modern, incorporating thoughtful elements like vintage maps to celebrate Singapore’s storied history. The design is enhanced by commissioned paintings of botanicals and pineapples by local artists.

Two al fresco terraces flank The Pineapple Room, offering a serene setting for leisurely relaxation. Rattan chairs allow guests to relax and connect while enjoying beautiful vistas of the lush greenery that surrounds Capella Singapore.
