This idyllic, five-mile stretch of white-sand beaches boasts crystal-clear turquoise waters and is considered the most beautiful beach in the Dominican Republic. Located within the protected Jaragua National Park, Bahía de Las Águilas is backed by a rugged rocky karst landscape.

There are no hotels, restaurants or shops here, making it the perfect beach for those seeking peace and quiet for a day on the sand. Meanwhile, visitors can reach the beach with an all-terrain vehicle, or a boat from the shores of Cabo Rojo.

As this idyllic stretch of beach is close to Santo Domingo, it is often considered the capital’s main beach. The beach stretches for almost a mile and is protected by a large coral reef. Meanwhile, its shallow waters make it an ideal swimming spot for families. For those seeking excitement, sailing and beach volleyball tournaments are often held here, which are always fun to watch. Moreover, several beach clubs offer seafront dining, perfect for refreshing after a day in the sun.
