Hotel Review: New York Marriott Marquis “Great Hotel, Great Location”

My mother, my friend and I have stayed at the Marriot Marquis in Time Square NYC several times.  We love the Marriot Marquis, everything is always great when we are there!  On our last visit when we went to check-in we had booked a normal room for three people and they immediately offered to upgrade us to a suite without any extra cost.

The staff working at the hotel are very friendly and always willing to help.  They try their best to make you feel special and they succeed. When you check in at a hotel in one of the World’s great cities you get a good feeling when you are made to feel welcome.

The room was amazing – it was actually a suite and it was in pristine condition.  It had a big conference table and great view of the harbor.  There were two large beds and a dressing/preparation area in which to put on makeup plus a top notch bathroom.  There were also some comfy couches and chairs.

The inside of the hotel is very pretty and as we were there in December it was decorated for the festively for the holiday season.  If you are guest of the hotel you should take a visit to the View Lounge which is located on the 48th floor.  You get to it by taking a panoramic elevator that in itself provides a fantastic view of the hotel.   The elevators make the trip to and from your room exciting, even though you have to wait a bit sometimes to catch one.

Guests of the hotel have the cover charge waived at the View Lounge and the view is beyond spectacular.  The lounge rotates and it takes about one hour to make a complete 360 degree turn during which you get a view of the Hudson, Times Square, and a number of other iconic buildings in NY.  It is the only revolving restaurant in NYC.

If you want to be in Time Square the location of the Marriot Marquis is unbeatable as you can walk to restaurants, shows and many of the popular tourist attractions.

Prices for accommodations at the Marriot Marquis in Time Square are very competitive for the quality and location – they are WORTH EVERY PENNY!
