Disney World Guests Are Now Allowed to Eat and Drink When Walking Outdoors

Walt Disney World Guests Are Now Allowed to Eat and Drink When Walking OutdoorsDisney news reveals that the recent change to Disney World’s outdoor mask policy has an additional bonus: Guests are now allowed to eat and drink while walking outside.

Walt Disney World Has Changed Its Mask Policy

Before the new announcement guests were not allowed to walk and eat at the same time. In other words, visitors had to remain in one place while eating or drinking outside.

That has all changed but when the rule was in effect Cast Members were tasked with telling flagrant guests to put on their masks or stop eating and walk to the side of a busy area to eat or drink while immobile and socially distanced.

The new rule went into effect May 15th, 2021. Disney announced this week that it will no longer require face coverings in most outdoor park areas, in Disney Springs, and in other areas of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney has updated their Experience Updates” page which outlines the new guidelines.

The page states that masks are still worn during transportation on the grounds, and at indoor locations except when eating or drinking. Face coverings are not required in outdoor common areas or on pool decks.

Universal Orlando Resort made a similar change after Orange County, FL removed its outdoor mask mandate.

Walt Disney World Guests Have New Outdoor Dining Rules

Eating and drinking while on the move from one ride to the next is a great way to burn calories and also it’s just plain fun to munch on a pretzel or consume a Dole Whip while ambling, so the new rule will be welcomed by hangry guests.

This is especially true for guests who plan on visiting the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival as seating and tables are rare near the festival’s food booths.

Additionally there is a brand-new menu for the EPCOT Farmers Feast which is included in the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.

Three new dazzling food items have debuted at the booth located within World Showplace and they sound tasty and amazing. There is an asparagus dish, an herb-crusted spring lamb, as well as a decadent upside-down cake. Outgoing items are the spring onion soup, duck confit, and beet dish that were featured at the booth. The festival began in March and the booth offers a rotating menu.
