Caribbean Paradise: Turks And Caicos Finally Returns To Normal Tourism

The Caribbean destination of Turks and Caicos will shortly join much of the world in dropping its COVID-19 restrictions. In fact, after three years, the islands will finally drop their vaccination requirement to return to normal on April 1. Turks and Caicos drops COVID-19 restrictions

Over the past year, around 150 countries have gradually dropped all pandemic restrictions and have returned to normal. However, Turks and Caicos chose to continue with a vaccination requirement for travelers. Finally, on April 1, this is set to change, making the Caribbean destination accessible to all travelers, vaccinated or not.

Turks and Caicos is a British Overseas Territory, but has the authority to set its own entry restrictions, even though the UK dropped all restrictions more than a year ago. In fact, it is one of the few places in the world that still have a vaccination requirement in place, at least until next week.

According to the official Turks and Caicos tourism website, all entry regulations relating to COVID-19 will be dropped on April 1. Travelers will no longer need to complete a pre-travel authorization form and no pre-departure COVID test is required. Meanwhile, it will also no longer be required to give proof of travel insurance.

No face masks are required anywhere in Turks and Caicos and there are no capacity restrictions on restaurants and bars. The final step in returning to “normal” happens on April 1, when the vaccination requirement is dropped after three years of the pandemic.

Getting to the islands

Turks and Caicos are very accessible for American travelers, with one international airport on Providenciales. In fact, US travelers can reach the ideal in just under two hours from Miami, or 3.5 hours from New York City. This easy access makes the Caribbean islands the ideal location for a tropical getaway.

What is the best time to visit Turks and Caicos?

For reasonable prices and great weather, the best time to visit is February through April. Meanwhile, the most affordable time to visit is from August through November. However, you are likely to face less-than-ideal weather at that time of the year.
